Biography

Geoscientist specializing in sedimentary basin analysis, rock geomechanics, and the geochemistry of organic-rich mudstones. My research focuses on understanding the effects of mineral composition, thermal maturity, and diagenesis on the mechanical properties of Cretaceous formations, with applications in unconventional hydrocarbon exploration. I am currently pursuing my M.Sc. at KAUST.

Research Interests

My research interests include the geomechanics and geochemistry of organic-rich mudstones, sedimentary basin analysis, and unconventional hydrocarbon systems. In my previous experiences I was focused on understanding the effects of thermal maturity, mineralogy, and diagenesis on rock mechanical properties.

Selected Publications

Effects of organic richness, mineral composition, diagenesis, and thermal maturity on the viscoelastic properties of organic-rich Cretaceous mudstones in the Middle Magdalena Valley basin, Colombia.
