Welcome to the SEASTAR website!

We are a team of geoscientists that are focusing on :

1. the stratigraphic architecture of the Mesozoic and Cenozoic rocks of the Arabian Plate to improve prediction of subsurface resources (hydrocarbons, phosphates, pure calcite, water) and storage capacity (CO2, nuclear waste),
2. the expression of climate, sea level and palaeoceanographical changes in these rocks as an analogue for the present, and
3. the study of Green Arabia, the more recent Quaternary climatic history of the Arabian Plate, and its effect on Human evolution.

Our current projects are running in Saudi Arabia (Tuwaiq Mountain Formation, Paleolakes), Jordan (Upper Cretaceous), and Tunisia, and involve outcrops and subsurface data, including shallow cores.
