Biography

Georgina Santos Castillo is a Mexican geological engineer and M.Sc. student in Earth Science and Engineering at KAUST. Current research focuses on Jurassic carbonate systems, using the Arabian Plate as a case study for regional-to-global stratigraphic stable isotope geochemistry correlation. She has also gained experience through SEG EVOLVE, representing the team globally at IMAGE 2026, subsurface operations (2023), and karst geology projects (2024), with a broader interest in integrated geoscience and subsurface applications.

Research Interests

My research interests include carbonate sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, stable-isotope geochemistry, sedimentary basin analysis, and mineral resources. I am interested in applying integrated geological and subsurface data to energy, carbon storage, and mineral exploration. Eager to learn new methods and work across disciplines.
